My alarm clock goes off in my head
So I drag myself up out of bed
I stumble to the coffee pot
Strong and black and nice and hot
I can't be late for work today
The boss said he's going to dock my pay
It wasn't my fault I was ten minutes late
That cop was right on my tailgate
Here I am, I have finally arrived
Boss says, my, my, now here's a surprise
He's already hollering to hurry it up
And I'm still looking for my coffee cup
Out on the job site, I'm finally there
I put on some make-up and brush my long hair
I spent half of the morning just looking for stuff
By break time I felt that I'd had enough
I was trying to leave without getting caught
But the boss man was watching me like a hawk
By lunch time I was needing a nap
I'd had just about all I could take of this crap
I finally saw my chance to escape
And I didn't stop or hesitate
The boss man was looking all over the place
But I had vanished without a trace
So, it's back to the unemployment line
Hey mister, can I borrow a dime?
