It seems to me we've seen better days
Although I cannot remember it all
I'm sure that there must be another way
To get across that wall
Try as I might to get to the top
I get halfway there and then I come to a stop
I lose my footing and I lose my way
And I cannot remember what I needed to say
Time and again, I fall short of my goal
And have to start over again
Summon all of my will to get up that hill
That I cannot seem to ascend
They say that these are the good old days
And we'll look back and laugh when we're old
But I don't want to wait until I'm wrinkled and gray
And my bones start turning cold
Let me dance while I'm young and life's just begun
Find a warm place in the sun
You can leave nothing to fate and nothing to chance
While earnestly seeking romance
