I've seen some things up in the skies

That finally made me realize

That we are not alone here

I've seen some lights up in the skies

I've seen these things with my own eyes

I wasn't tripping

I wasn't drunk

I wasn't even smoking skunk

I thought my eyes were playing tricks

That I wasn't really seeing this

I thought it might be just a vision

Until I saw it on the television

It really was a UFO

Walter Cronkite told me so

I know for sure that it must be true

Because I saw it on the tube

Do they come in war or peace

Should we call in the police

Are they lost and all alone

Just trying to find their way back home

Or, is this an alien invasion

Will they take over the nation

Are they foes or are they friends
