Homecoming

As I travel this familiar road, down this divided highway, it's clear that things have changed, since first I went away. Memories wash over me, and miles erase the years, coming back to haunt me, bringing with old fears. They say you can't go home again, it appears that this is true. The one who ran away from here, is not at all like you. You put this place behind you then, running hard and fast. Alas, no matter where you run, you can't escape the past. You confront the old monster that's still under the bed. He wasn't just something you made up in your head. And, feeling like some sort of fragile old glass, turn tail and get the hell out of town fast!
