Somebody else is always cleaning up the mess
When my addiction puts me to the test
They’re always making excuses for me
When I’m working my way through recovery
And as if I don’t have problems enough
Junior keeps getting kicked off of the bus
Granny just stays upstairs in her room
When I come home and start drinking at noon
The ol’ lady is quick to crack a joke
When I’m hanging at the end of my rope
The whole family tiptoes around my behavior
Even at home I feel like a stranger
