Coming Clean

Who'd have thought it would come to pass?

Nobody thought they'd ever last

Doomed right from the very first

Life-like junkies share the curse

And who's to say, you're right, you're wrong

The wise men have all left this town

She came from the wrong side of the tracks

Somehow he fell right through the cracks

He got high to escape from boredom

She couldn't see what she had become

He told her things that she never knew

Said, There's a better life for me and you

Just take my hand and buckle your seatbelt

Play life's cards as they are dealt

The road, it may be long sometimes

As we leave the bad times all behind

But soon I think you'll begin to see

There's a better life for you and me
