Before the World Moved On

Imaginings and fragile things

Like fragments of elusive dreams

Ambassador to no-man's-land

You count the cost and play your hand

From darkened lore and whispered tales

The faintest hint of hope prevails

Loaded up with ammunition

Breaking with the old traditions

Anomalies and tragedies

Portrayed in life's menageries

May spring to mind

Bring back the time

When life still held a mystery

Escape to sleep

Perchance to dream

Of gentle queens and kindly kings

The blessed peace that slumber brings

Remembering a better time

Before the world moved on
